So ages ago I posted my Podcast set up,and recently someone asked me for a link. Which made me realize I haven’t updated this since I upgraded equipment! So here’s what I use now.

We ask each person to record their own audio track in Audacity, in Mono at the default value of 44100 Hz, and we usually meet over Skype. David mixes all the audio for those sessions.

On occasion, we’ve used Ringr, which records the audio for both sides of the call; and mixes it into an MP3 for downloading. There is a free 30 day trial, Basic for $7.99 a month and Premimu for $18.99 a month. The only downside to Ringr is that for now, it can only support a two person call. We’ve also got an affiliate link so you can get Ringr for 25% off.

If you need a service that supports multiple people per call, Zencastr could be an option. Our podcast fam Spawn On Me has been using it.

As for hosting, we use simplecast.fm, which has been pretty good. Only $12 a month for hosting. You can post date episodes so it’s great if you might be traveling or away from a computer when you normally post episodes.
